The “Blackberry Estates ” sub-division is designed to be a gated-like community for small or mature families. A registered building scheme allows a specified range of colors for siding, fusion stone rockwork, and gable roofs and asphalt shingles to guarantee the appearance of this small neighbourhood. The building scheme is registered on title as a covenant. There is no strata, all lots are free hold.
All duplexes have 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, granite counter tops, wood cabinets, engineered hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, air conditioning & efficient heat pumps, 6' crawl spaces for storage, and heated single-vehicle garages. J. Oviatt Contracting is also developing the Strawberry Meadows rural sub-division in the lower part of Kitimat. Strawberry Meadows comprises numerous 1- to 4-acre lots, paved roadways, and is serviced by District of Kitimat water and sewer. This sub-division is intended to provide a 'country-style' lifestyle with easy access to downtown Kitimat (several lots are still available that are within easy walking distance!). This rural community is being built with outdoor recreation in mind. Local multi-use gravel trails intended to circle and bisect the sub-division are under construction thoughout Strawberry Meadows, and will ultimately link downtown Kitimat with the proposed Minette Bay West recreational area and water access.
As of August, 2016, Phases 1 through 8 have been completed. We have a number of bare and forested 2 to 4 acre lots still available for sale from Phase 8 on Elderberry Street.
We are also in the process of developing Phase 9 of Strawberry Meadows, which will include the continuation of Loganberry Street.
